I fully believe that, in order to lead a school successfully, a leader must have a good understanding of the entire school and a strong appreciation of the job roles of colleagues at each level within the organisation. I have ensured that throughout my career that I have progressed organically, gaining a solid foundation at how to lead effectively at middle-management level and then within senior leadership. I consider it a genuine honour to be able to influence the lives of young people. I am fully committed to my personal philosophy of lifelong learning and am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to learn from the students and colleagues around me on a daily basis. I have completed the Chartered College of Teaching accreditation within Leadership and recently began the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Completing these was a challenge and yet at the same time, it was incredibly rewarding. This is how I believe learning should be. Students and teachers should be challenged to push themselves every day.
