Neil Smythe

Teacher of Music

Neil has worked in education for ten years and has been a music teacher for the last five years, working mainly in secondary schools but also across primary schools. He started as a volunteer before becoming a teaching assistant in a North London Special Needs School before moving onto MIddlesex University to complete his PGCE in Secondary Music Education. During that time, he worked within two mixed, multicultural schools across North London.

Neil spent two years working across a range of different schools; largely primary and both within Music and also teaching other subjects. He then spent two years teaching BTEC and GCSE music in Hackney, East London before moving onto Bow School where he taught KS3 and 4 and led a number of different music clubs.
