THE ENTRY PROCEDURE

Repton Malaysia is a selective school. Selection is based upon academic merit which is assessed through an entry assessment, references from the candidate’s previous school and in many cases, an interview at the school. Our selection process is designed to identify pupils who are able to benefit from our balanced and well-rounded education and to make a positive contribution towards the life of the School.

Repton Malaysia is open for applications in all age groups. The Junior School provides high quality primary education for children aged 3 – 11 based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) of the English National Curriculum and the English National Curriculum Key Stages 1 and 2. The Senior School welcomes pupils from age 11-18 following the English National Curriculum leading to IGCSEs at 16 years of age and either International Baccalaureate Diploma or A levels at 18.

Applicants for admission should register as soon as possible as we are experiencing high demand for places. The registration form is to be found on this website.

SCHOOL FEES

A breakdown of Repton School Fees is available upon request.

EQUAL TREATMENT

Repton Malaysia encourages applications from candidates with a diverse range of backgrounds. This enriches our community and is vital in preparing our pupils for today’s world.

We are committed to equal treatment for all, regardless of a candidate’s sex, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or social background.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Repton Malaysia does not discriminate in any way regarding entry. The School welcomes pupils with special educational needs providing our learning support department can offer them the support that they require. We welcome pupils with disabilities. However, we strongly advise parents of children with special educational needs or physical or mental disabilities to discuss their child’s requirements with the school before he/she attends the entry assessment so that we can advise whether we can make reasonable adjustments in order to provide adequately for your child. Parents should provide a copy of an educational psychologist’s report or a medical report if they have one. The School will discuss thoroughly with parents and their medical advisers the adjustments that can reasonably be made for the child if he/she becomes a pupil at Repton Malaysia.

THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

The aim of the process is to identify ability and potential. Repton Malaysia is looking for well-rounded pupils with a genuine interest in education in the broadest sense of the word, with interests that stretch beyond the confines of the academic curriculum. The School is proud of its international reputation for music, drama, art, debating, community activities and sport. The school will provide many extra-curricular activities, all of which are important in developing a well-balanced, confident individual.

No specific preparation for entry assessment is necessary and all candidates start on an equal footing, with identical opportunities to display their academic aptitude and extra-curricular skills.

All entry assessments are age appropriate and designed to identify potential. A parent interview with the Headmaster and/or Director of Admissions is also a condition of entry for all.

For all candidates, once a place is offered the timescale for accepting the place will be as stated in the offer letter.

The dates for the assessment process will be agreed with the parents for all entrants. For entry in to our Early Years FS1 and FS2, the children will be assessed in small groups.

A small administrative charge is made for entry assessment.
