SOP Covid-19 Guidelines

 Before you leave for school each morningstop covid

  • Please take your child’s temperature prior to them leaving for school. If the temperature is higher than 37.5C, and/or with any of the following conditions, pleaman on face maskse do not send your child to school and seek medical advice from your doctor.
  • Flu-like symptoms; dry cough, breathing difficulty, nasal congestion, runny nose or sore throat with or without fever.
  • If you have been in close contact within 14 days of a confirmed case please do not send your child to school.
  • If you have attended an event associated with a known COVID-19 outbreak, please do not send your child to school.

What to bring to school

  • Face Mask - It is compulsory to bring and wear a facemask or plastic face shield in all common areas and when entering and exiting the school. It is also recommended that they are to be worn in the classrooms depending on the activities.
  • Please ensure your child has a spare mask (kept in a clean receptacle or ziplock bag) in the event that it gets misplaced.
  • Hand Sanitiser will be available at school but students may bring a small bottle of their own.
  • Junior and Senior students should bring their own pencil cases and required stationeries.

Food

  • Due to health and safety restrictions, food services at school will be limited.
  • The School Cafeteria will be providing pre-ordered meals.
  • Early Years and Years 1,2 and 3 will have their meals delivered to their classrooms.
  • Junior Years 4, 5, 6 and Senior students will have their meals in the Cafeteria and adhering to the Covid-19 SOP.
  • The ordering of pre-packed / pre-ordered food will be one month in advance.
  • There will be no over-the-counter meal options available.
  • The Cafeteria will be using disposable containers.Pick up stations will set up in the Cafeteria for pre-ordered food.
  • There will be NO food deliveries / takeaways allowed on campus.

Water

  • Each student should have a reusable water bottle clearly labelled with his/her name and class.
  • Students can refill their water bottles at the water fountains.
  • Single use plastic water bottles should not be brought on campus.
  • All water fountains are cleaned and maintained for students to refill their reusable water bottles.
  • There will be no direct drinking from the water fountains.

Start & Finish Times

The start and finish times for the school are as follows:

Early Years and Junior School:

  • Start of the day: 8:10am - 8:30am lessons start
  • End of the day 3:00pm

Senior School:

  • Start of the day: 8:10am - 8:30am lessons start
  • End of the day 3:30pm

To ease the flow of traffic, the following rules will apply:

Entering Campus

  • The Main Entrance will be the only drop off place for Junior and Senior students.
  • Early Years students and school buses will use the Upper car park as a drop off point.
  • There will be no access via the underground car park.
  • Parents must only drop off students and then leave immediately.
  • Parents wanting to visit the school must make an appointment through the admissions office.
  • All students and staff must wear a mask when entering/exiting and in common areas on campus.
  • All Students and Staff will be scanned using our new quick and easy scanners which automatically registers the temperature.
  • Student ID Cards will be required when entering and exiting and must be worn at all times.
  • Please follow the directional signage when accessing campus and maintain physical distancing.
  • No parents, drivers or security are allowed on campus as per Government regulations. If specific access is required, please email admissions for an appointment.
  • On arrival, all students will be instructed to make their way to the designated area. Teachers will be on hand to assist this process.

Exiting the Campus

In order to avoid delays, the school has decided to introduce staggered exit times. The Junior School and Early Years students will all leave school at 3.00 pm. Senior School students will leave school at 3.30pm.

The following rules apply:

  • Junior School and Senior School Students must only use the main entrance for pick up.
  • This is a strictly drive-thru pick up only and no parents should exit the car. Staff will be on duty to assist.
  • There will be no access via the underground car park.
  • Early Years students and school buses will use the Upper car park as a pick up point.
  • Students from the Early Years will be escorted to the cars.

Physical Distancing

  • Keep at least 1metre away from others.
  • Observe the distancing markers in common areas, cafeteria, classrooms, and washrooms.
  • Observe the flow of traffic markers in corridors and stairwells.
  • No handshakes or other physical greetings.
  • Avoid congregating in large groups.

Personal Hygiene

  • Regularly wash hands with soap and water or use Hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your face especially eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Children must not share food/drinks, utensils, clothing or any other personal belongings.
  • Any masks left lying around will be disposed of due to health and safety reasons.

In the Classroom

  • All junior and senior classrooms and learning spaces have been reconfigured to accommodate the students and whilst observing the SOP guidelines.
  • Masks may be removed in classrooms (optional depending on the activity), but must be stored away safely and then put back on when exiting the classroom.
  • Hand Sanitizer will be available around the campus.

Outdoor Activities

  • There will be limited outdoor activities. This will be reviewed weekly in adherence to the Government regulations.
  • There will be no after school activities onsite (CCAs / ECA's). This will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
  • PE and physical health related activities are subject to Government regulations.

Absence from School

Please inform us if your child is absent from school so that the teachers are aware. Kindly email the homeroom teacher and indicate the reasons for the absence. If your child is absent because of sickness on returning to the school please submit the necessary medical certificate to the homeroom teacher.

Protocol on how the school will manage suspected cases:

The school will follow Ministry of Health directives. An isolation room has been set up on campus.

 

SOP Physical Activities / Sports

PE Teachers Planning

  • The PE teachers will plan activities making use of the suitable space in the school / school area and taking into account no physical contact. Sports Hall / Field
  • Activities are appropriate to the equipment facilities and within school regulations.

Before Activities

  • PE equipment is clean and safe to use
  • Students are encouraged to bring their own equipment (rackets etc)
  • Changing rooms are clean and social distancing observed
  • Student changing numbers are limited and staggered in accordance with the SOP

During activities

The following guides must be followed:

  • One to Three metres for static activities (stretching, warm ups)
  • Three to five feet metres for dynamic activities (dance, running etc)
  • Students must bring their own water bottles and face towels.

After activities

  • Equipment to be cleaned after use.
  • The indoor areas to be cleaned after use
  • Students are not allowed to shake hands or use physical contact
  • Staff wash hands after very activity and use hand sanitizer (have this available at the activity)
  • All students should leave the sports area after the activity
