Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What will my child be doing at Repton?

Our three - five year olds enjoy a vibrant and fun-filled environment in which to explore, play and interact with both staff and their playmates. Every activity is an opportunity to have fun and learn.

For our Early Years children, the focus is on preparing them for ‘big’ school, but that’s not to say they don’t have fun doing it. They follow a balanced timetable, covering subjects such as music, dance and art to basic reading, writing, mathematics and computer studies. The children work towards the ‘Early Learning Goals’ of the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’.

Q2:  What is the food like?

The food is all freshly prepared and freshly cooked, and follows a menu that has been approved by a qualified nutritionist, so your child will get the five-a-day foods during meal and snack times. We aim to accommodate most food preferences whether for personal, cultural or medical reasons.

Q3: My child always sleeps at a particular time during the day. How will this work with my child’s established routine?

Your child will soon become accustomed to the  routine in our Early Years setting. For example, if they are used to having a nap during the day then they will sleep during the day at Repton as necessary until they become adjusted to the routine.

Q4: What if I get the urge to ring up and out what my child’s up to, can I call?

We pride ourselves on our communication with parents. You are very welcome to call at any time. We also encourage parents to share some time with us at the beginning and end of the day so they you can find out what your child has been up to.

Q5: Tell me about the staff?

Repton Malaysia only recruits top quality staff and is committed to ongoing staff training to ensure all staff are familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage, the methods of teaching and to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. Repton staff are a highly motivated group of individuals who happily undertake regular training to keep them up to date with the latest developments and best practice in Early Years education.

Q6.   How do I know how my child is progressing?

Each child’s teacher will monitor every child’s individual development very closely, paying attention to their physical, educational and emotional development. This information is recorded and will be shared with you at the regular review meetings or sooner if appropriate.
